How long does it take to write a grant proposal?
Grant preparation timelines vary based on funder requirements, and project complexity. Depending on the application, proposal development may require anywhere from 5 hours to 100+ hours of work. For high-quality submissions, this work is typically spread over three or more weeks, allowing adequate time for research, drafting, client review, feedback, and revisions prior to submission.
Preparation time is also influenced by an organization’s grant readiness and the duration of our working relationship. Clear Horizons Consulting supports both one-time engagements and long-term partnerships. Ongoing collaborations allow us to build reusable content and a grant-seeking knowledge base, reducing preparation costs over time in support of a strong return on investment.
